ITINERARY
 Tuesday
Arrive in New York City today! We can have a private vehicle pick you up at LaGuardia, Newark or JFK airports, or at Penn Station, and take you to your hotel, the Sheraton New York Times Square (vehicle transfer at additional cost).

 Wednesday
 
Breakfast and Dinner included today
Meet your tour host and your new traveling companions  this morning for a big breakfast before embarking on a motorcoach tour of Midtown Manhattan highlights and the beautiful Upper West Side, passing through Times Square, Columbus Circle and Lincoln Center. Our first stop will be at St. John the Divine, the largest Gothic cathedral in the world! You'll marvel at the sheer magnificence of the structure that has been visited by clergy from all the world's major religions. Your host will take you on the walk to watch the huge balloons take shape. it's a great photo op as you pass by such famous character balloons like Ronald McDonald, Snoopy, Charlie Brown, Garfield, Sponge Bob or Spider-Man. We'll return to the hotel early this afternoon for some free time to relax, shop or explore nearby Rockefeller Center, Times Square, Fifth Avenue or the Theater District.
This evening we've got a table reserved for you at a nearby restaurant - and then seats at a hit Broadway show!

 Thursday, Thanksgiving
 
Breakfast and dinner included today
Happy Thanksgiving! What a day it will be, as your host walks you to our Stay Warm venue for a hearty breakfast of scrambled eggs, bacon and pancakes - but the real feast will be watching the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade. The restaurant is just a short 1/2 block from the parade route so you'll have in and out access to use the facilities or get a cup of hot cocoa. We're sure you'll be excited to see the balloons that you viewed yesterday, as well as the marching bands and floats that make up the most famous parade in the USA.
We'll let you catch your breath this afternoon before your host walks you a short 2 block for a delicious traditional Thanksgiving turkey dinner, of course with all the trimmings! Afterwards we want you to see how we've decorated the City just for you so we'll board a chartered motorcoach for a tour of the fabulous department store windows. You'll be able to get out for up close views at the displays that adorn Macy's, Bloomingdale's, Barney's, Lord & Taylor, among others.

 Friday
 
Lunch and Dinner included today
No visit to New York City would be complete without seeing the most famous lady in the land - the elegant Lady Liberty herself. Your host will guide you by subway to Battery Park in Lower Manhattan where you'll have priority access to the Statue of Liberty ferry. Once you arrive on Liberty Island - and we hope you'll have your camera battery charged for the amazing views on the boat ride - you'll be among the few to actually go inside the monument and up to the promenade deck for a breathtaking view of the Manhattan skyline. Lunch is at your leisure in the Cafe on Liberty Island.
Upon return to Battery Park you'll be guided through the City's Financial District, past the Bronze Bull, down Wall Street and in a veritable skyscraper museum, ending at the 911 Memorial. This beautiful and tranquil plaza has two massive pools set within the original footprints of the Twin Towers with 30-foot waterfalls cascading down their sides.
This afternoon and evening we'll celebrate both the end of this fantastic vacation and the beginning of the holiday season with special treats - a performance of the Radio City Christmas Spectacular and a grand Farewell Dinner!

 Saturday Today you'll have to check out of your hotel (although you're welcome to add additional nights if you wish!). If you've arrived at one of our airports or Penn Station, a private vehicle can whisk you away (additional fee) with your memories of a fun-filled visit to the Big Apple. Balloon Inflation & Uptown Tour


On Wednesday afternoon before Thanksgiving we'll take you uptown to the festive area where the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade begins to take shape. You'll see some of the grand balloons being inflated, take lots of pictures and perhaps hear commentary from parade veterans.

Afterwards we'll continue our motorcoach tour of the Upper West Side, stopping for a visit to St. John the Divine, the world's largest cathedral. This spectacular Episcopal cathedral, a house of prayer for all people, welcomes all faiths and communities. Its massive structure was begun in 1892 and is still not finished - but once inside you'll marvel at its spectacular columns, beautiful stained glass and 7 smaller chapels dedicated to and designed for the immigrants that populated New York City.

Sure to be a highlight of the Cathedral tour - a Great Organ recital performed by the extraordinary organist Raymond Nagem!

Stay Warm Thanksgiving Breakfast



Nothing quite beats the sites and sounds of the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade on 6th Avenue, but sometimes cold November in New York City can take some of the fun out of an otherwise amazing event. Our famous Stay Warm Thanksgiving Breakfast is an exclusive event sure to heighten your enjoyment of the most famous parade in the world.

You’ll get to stand in awe as enormous balloons drift by, watching all the floats accompanied by marching bands, cheerleaders, and even some famous singers and performers - with the convenience and comfort of an indoor facility just 1/2 block away. You can listen to the live music, snap a couple pictures, and then head inside to relax, unwind, take the bite out of the cold. You’ll be able to grab something to eat, warm up with a hot beverage, and use the restroom. Then just step back out on 6th Avenue and mingle with parade-viewers from around the world. You can come in and out of our Stay Warm Thanksgiving Breakfast as many times as you want while you enjoy the holiday festivities of the Big Apple.

Be advised that there is no view of the parade from inside Heartland Brewery, but you can come and go as you please, and have a place to call home during the parade.
