I have just returned from Mexico and I was lucky enough to have stayed at the new Karisma property the Azul Blue. I would like to give you my personal thoughts on the property and the other Karisma properties that I have seen this last week.
The Karisma Resorts are truly destinations in themselves. You really never want to leave the tranquility of these resorts. Every one of you knows that I am a resort and hotel snob. It my gift! These resorts BLEW me away there was comfortable luxury everywhere you looked. Beach Beds galore-Beach Hammocks-Spa services AND THE FOOD! Oh the FOOD!

El Dorado Royale (just awarded the Four Diamond Award by AAA)

As usual this property is beautiful. This hotel is truly made for romance. They have completed the new Casita Suite addition and with this they have added more Presidential Suites. The concierge booths, which are conveniently located throughout the property, have been enclosed and air-conditioned in a recent upgrade. These are located a short walk from any building so your clients can make their dinner reservations or assist with anything else they may need.
There are 7 restaurants, 3 snack bars and 24-hour rooms service and as usual the food here is truly gourmet all-inclusive. It might help to tell your clients that most of the dinners are much more like European dinning with many different courses at the Karisma properties dining is a true event to savor. All restaurants except one need dinner reservations. You can make your clients dinner reservations for them before they arrive at the El Dorado properties.
There is also 13 different bars located throughout the property with each Casita section having its own pool and swim up bar. The beach is still beautiful and large and over a mile long. Remember they do have the large beach bags located through out the beach area to make the beach more swim able. But they truly do not take away from the beauty of the ocean view. I thought they were large rocks until you look closer! You can see them in the background of this picture.
We also offer on special request the new oceanfront Presidential Suite. They include a master bedroom, 2nd bedroom, living room, dining room, private swimming pool, indoor and outdoor Jacuzzis, outdoor hammocks and much more. These set OCEAN FRONT with nothing but SAND and SEA in front of them!
This is one of my favorites! I LOVED this place!!!! Even thought it has 600+ rooms you really never feel like you are at a large resort. This property is set along the beach with most rooms close to the beach – not a hike through the property! However there are steps to the main building so this may not be the best place for someone who has difficulties getting around – Put them at the Seaside Suites.

Azul Beach
97 rooms featuring Deluxe and Superior
This is boutique family hotel that is located on a beautiful beach over 100 yards long perfect for kids. The rooms come ready for families or couples. When they arrive in the room they will find it custom ready for example if they have small children there will be things like stroller, playpen, bottle warmer etc awaiting for them in their room. They have thought of everything like the small footstool for reaching the sink and specialty-sized robes waiting for the kids. No need to bring baby food they feature Gerber Gourmet. They offer a kid club for kids 4-12. And all of the 4 restaurants offer a kids menu and no reservations are required anytime. They have also added a new restaurant called the Chill on the north side of the property featuring views of the ocean and Mexican/Caribbean Cuisine. The Taiwan Restaurant features Asian inspired cuisine with great places in the restaurant for the kids to sit with the parents. I love this property for families with small children they will not feel overwhelmed and it is the perfect size. If the kids/Adults are looking for a movie the Azul offers over 400 titles that are available for check out. They do have 3 different pools here so your clients will find one just perfect for their mood. For the adults who are just looking for a small boutique hotel this also will be ideal for them.
Since the property is so intimate you will find your own special place. I did see this property when it was full and you did not see a lot of kids running around and it did not feel crowed. There were still lots of seating at the pools and beach. And don’t forget about the beach butlers who will bring you reading material, snacks or drinks. If you have honeymooners here they will also find their rooms ready for them with a towel and flower arrangement this could be the perfect hideaway for them if they are looking for a small property with a great beach area.
The Azul Beach also offers a suite that can be specially requested. Guests will be able to relax and indulge in this 630 sq foot suite designed in a stylish contemporary cor. It is equipped with king size bed, 42¢â plasma screen satellite TV, sofa, daily stocked mini bar with water, beer and soft drinks, breakfast area, private sitting area with a Jacuzzi and a balcony facing the Caribbean Sea. 190 sq foot mosaic tile bathroom with double sink, special rain shower, and wood closets
Azul Blue and Spa

Wow is all I can say about this hotel this is truly a wonderful boutique property. It felt like a sanctuary on the ocean. This is for your clients who are looking for a place to lose themselves and have a truly stress free experience. From the moment you walk in the doors you feel you have reached a different place. From your own private check in, that actually takes place in your room to your personal aromatherapy, soaps, pillows, and your personal selection on your I pod. You will feel special right away.
The room is wonderful with a large suite that features king size bed, separate sitting area, plasma TV, balcony and either an indoor or outdoor double hydro tub. The bathroom is very oversized with 2 vanities and a 3-door closet with dressing area and the shower is the largest I have seen in the area and great for 1 or more. The hotel was carved out of the jungle overlooking the ocean on a hill. So in between the buildings are these winding sidewalks with a forest of lush jungle foliage all around you. There is this wonderful infinity pool that mimics the color of the sea, around this area features many different seating areas to enjoy the sun and a swim up bar. Also off of the pool is the View restaurant open for lunch and dinner with great views of the ocean. Off of the pool area is the Spa building that features not only a world-class spa but also a work out facility and a yoga room, all with breathtaking views of the ocean. How easy it is to find your Zen here. Between the pool and the Spa are the 4 outdoor whirlpools located so you can view both the sea and the stars. The whirlpools feature different temperatures so you can choose the one that works best for you. The hotel also features 3 restaurants in total beside the View there is the Globe (open for all three meals) and the Yuzu (Asian) located off of the pool area. No reservations required for all.
The grounds at night are also beautifully lit with subtle lighting for the most romantic feel. This is a hotel that sits on a hill overlooking the ocean made to be a sanctuary from the outside world. The beach area is man made but sits beside the ocean so you can feel the spray and hear the sounds of the sea you just are unable to get in and swim. If swimming is what your clients would like to have and still have the Azul Blue experience. They do have a shuttle that will drive you to a stunning beach that is really only 5 minutes away. There is also walkway along the beach that offers a great place to enjoy the views with places to sit and also some swings for the kid in you. Remember this is an Azul property so children are allowed but there are not kids activities. In the evening they also offer light live entertainment in the bar Tinto while you sip a Stressfreetini and yes they really have one.
