  • 8 Reality TV Vacation Hot Spots in Mexico and the Caribbean

Reality TV stars: they're just like us! But really, they are, especially on vacation. Sure, there are some real over-the-top destinations and accommodations (like the La Vida Dolce, the luxury Punta Mita property visited by The Real Housewives of New York in season nine), but there are many luxe vacation spots attainable by regular people like you!

    1. El Dorado Casitas Royale – Riviera Maya
This was the vacation spot in season six of The Real Housewives of Atlanta. You might remember this trip as the one where two of the housewives' husbands actually started the drama - oh my!

    2. Dreams Tulum – Tulum
This romantic resort was home to the very first season of Bachelor in Paradise, which aired in 2014. Sadly, neither of the two couples that resulted from the season are still together.

    3. Moon Palace Jamaica Grande – Montego Bay
The Real Housewives of Atlanta headed to Moon Palace Jamaica Grande in season eight to film a commercial for Cynthia Bailey's new eyewear line. Groundbreaking.

    4. The Gansevoort – Turks & Caicos
In arguably one of the best vacations in the Real Housewives of New York franchise, the housewives stayed at this luxurious resort and LuAnn said her best line ever: "Be Cool. Don't be all like, uncool." One for the history books!

    5. Andaz Mayakoba – Playa del Carmen
The Vanderpump Rules cast visited this luxury eco resort in season six (are there really at least six seasons of this show?!). Jax gets yelled at, as he should, for not being good enough for his girlfriend Brittany, which he isn't.

    6. Garza Blanca – Puerto Vallarta
Three of The Real Housewives of Orange County took a quick jaunt to Garza Blanca in season 13 and it was definitely one to write home about. They go to Andale's (Vicki's fave PVR bar), eat street tacos, drink lots of tequila and Tamra breaks her foot. They probably should've spent more time in Garza Blanca's world-class spa, which looks amazing (the photo above is the view from it!).

    7. Hard Rock Hotel and Casino Punta Cana – Punta Cana
The Real Housewives of New Jersey stayed in this rock n' roll resort in season 3. Highlight of the trip: the giant sunhat Teresa wore on the beach. She's never one to be subtle.

    8. ME Cabo – Cabo San Lucas
Shahs of Sunset, a totally underrated reality show from Bravo, headed to Cabo in season two, which is a great choice as the resort is situated on the only swimmable beach in Los Cabos. Asa's daring vacation style and the resort's incredible views are the only things worth noting from this trip.

  • Romance is in Antigua and Barbuda

If greeting cards can survive the smartphone era, then Valentine's Day can withstand the coronavirus pandemic.

For many lovebirds, couples, and winter and pandemic-stressed moms and dads, February 14th is going to look different this year -take-out instead of a reservation at a romantic restaurant or a romantic comedy viewed on a streaming platform instead of at a favorite movie theater.

And chances are one of those greeting cards that survived the smartphone era is going to say something like: six feet apart but always in my heart, or every day is Valentine's Day when quarantining with a loved one.

But here's the thing. Antigua and Barbuda is open for business, and flights are cheaper than buying flowers – fresh roses, a dried flower bouquet, or otherwise.

Whether you book now for now or book now for later this year, romance is always in Antigua and Barbuda!

In 2016 and 2017, Antigua and Barbuda received one of the highest honors in the travel industry by winning the "Caribbean's Most Romantic Destination."

From cabanas with private plunge pools to candlelit picnic dinners on the beach, Antigua and Barbuda's romantic, adults only resorts offer a perfect backdrop for love and relaxation, not to mention an ideal escape from February's chill.

To feel the full effect of Cupid's arrow book at one of the following adults only resorts.

         Carlisle Bay, An unforgettable experience
Cocos Hotel, 30 cottages on an ocean bluff with amazing views
Galley Bay, Top 10 "best Caribbean resort for romance" - TripAdvisor
Hammock Cove, A new era of all-inclusive luxury, pick one of 42 villas
Sandals Grande Antigua, Two perfect worlds, one grand resort

    Romantic Excursions

With few day-trippers and 365 blush-colored beaches, it's almost like having Antigua & Barbuda all to yourself, which means it's also the perfect time to embark on a romantic island excursion.

Where should you start? Maybe a walk on the crescent-shaped beach at Half Moon Bay, or perhaps find your space in the sun on a quiet stroll along Dickenson Bay.

After that, well, follow your muse or do what Antigua's native writer, Jamaica Kincaid, suggests... "the present is always the moment for which I love"... and consider the following :

         Horseback riding
         Sunset cruising
Take in the view from Shirley Heights
Enjoy a private romantic beach dinner

According to recent research at Washington State University, travel can make you 7% happier. So even if, like the god Apollo, you think Cupid is a silly boy who has no business shooting arrows, a week with your feet in the sand is the perfect cure for the mid-winter blues.
