  • 7 Reasons Why Aruba Is the Best Island for Caribbean Wedding

    12/27/2022 12:08:08 PM Link 0 comments | Add comment

A dream wedding on the One Happy Island of Aruba means that there will be a minimal chance of rain, virtually no chance of having the party tents blown away by a passing hurricane, and a constant supply of sunshine combined with a cooling breeze to keep everybody from getting too hot. Additionally, Aruba is an island with award-winning white sand beaches, some of the best hotels in the Caribbean, incredible all-inclusive Caribbean wedding packages, and first-rate wedding planners willing to go above and beyond the call of duty.

But what makes Aruba such a special spot for a destination wedding? Here are 7 reasons Aruba is the best island for Caribbean weddings:

    1. Perfect Weather

Have you ever heard people say that Aruba is the sunniest island in the Caribbean? Guess what, it’s true! Although Aruba has some hills, there aren’t any high mountains to trigger rainfall and the climate is typically dry and arid. More importantly, this sunny island is located outside of the hurricane belt and has never been directly hit by a hurricane. Never. That means future brides don’t have to worry about weather on their big day! Even better, they don’t have to plan for ways to cool down either, as constant refreshing trade winds cool the air.

    2. Safe and Reliable

Not only is Aruba safe from bad weather, it’s also safe from just about everything else. As a matter of fact, Aruba is one of the safest Caribbean islands according to the United Nations. This is thanks to its very stable, tourism-driven economy. Aruba is an autonomous country within the Kingdom of the Netherlands, which accounts for Aruba adopting the same welfare, social, and educational systems as Holland. Aruba has been ranked a “high income” Caribbean Island (by the World Bank), allowing the locals to have a high quality of life, making people happy, and generally reducing the threat of crime.

    3. Top-Rated Wedding Packages

Nothing makes for a better wedding planning process than having all the costs bundled together in a Caribbean destination wedding package. Who has the time to investigate and compare the prices of all the different vendors needed to plan a wedding? If your travelers don’t have a wedding planner at their disposal, this can be a tiring and time-consuming task. Luckily, the hotels in Aruba offer multiple wedding packages ranging from budget-friendly to all-inclusive Caribbean wedding packages, to the more deluxe, luxury packages so couples can plan the perfect beach or ballroom wedding, depending on what they want.

    4. Accommodations

As a premier Caribbean wedding destination, Aruba offers a broad range of accommodations such as: high-end luxurious resorts, charming boutique style hotels, adult-only hotels and family-friendly properties. Aruba has an abundance of choices, making it a great destination for any bride-to-be.

All-inclusive resorts can make it easier to keep the costs under control. Or, if travelers are looking for a more personal lodging approach, they can consider staying in one of the smaller sized properties in the low-rise area of the island. Low rise hotels are situated on the award-winning Eagle beach (voted third best in the entire world) and Druif beach, both of which are tranquil, picturesque beaches simply perfect for weddings and honeymoons alike. Looking for more buzz? The high-rise hotels along the Palm Beach strip are perfect for active nightlife.

Those seeking an ultra-luxurious experience can rent a luxury villa for the entire wedding party to stay in. Aruba has a bounty of high-end, top-rated vacation rentals, ranging from beachfront villas to rustic, but well-appointed ‘cunucu’ houses scattered throughout the Aruban countryside.

    5. Convenience

Traveling to Aruba is easy. The award-winning Reina Beatrix Airport receives more than 16 daily flights from the U.S. and Canada most of which are direct flights. Make sure travelers have their online ED-card filled in and they can even escape the lines at customs. Upon the return trip back home, the Aruba Airport offers U.S. pre-clearance allowing travelers to skip customs upon arriving back in the United States.

After landing in Aruba there are plenty of taxis and tour operators ready to take visitors to their hotel or vacation rental.

If travelers prefer to start exploring Aruba immediately there are plenty of car rental companies outside the airport.

    6. Affordability

Budget-minded couples can rest easy knowing Aruba is a fantastic place to have a Caribbean beach wedding on a budget. Instead of staying in a luxury hotel travelers can opt to stay somewhere more affordable without having to sacrifice much. Try calling hotels to check for early-bird rates if your couple wants to stay at a beach-front resort and knows their wedding date well in advance. This can help save a significant chunk of cash. Also, don’t forget to check for group rates if there will be a larger wedding party.

    Insider tips:

The Aruba Tourism Authority offers cash incentives based on the total number of room occupancies, with the minimum being 50 total room nights. For weddings that will occupy more than 100 total room nights, contact Tyus Tours & Travel at 866-547-5362 or to book an appointment visit

    7. The One Happy Honeymoon Program

With limited vacation days and perhaps budget constraints, couples may want to consider combining their destination wedding and honeymoon. Couples interested in this option can enter Aruba’s One Happy Honeymoon program, which features enticing perks and discounts.

Book with a participating resort or hotel and let them know it’s your client’s honeymoon to receive:

         Preferred check-in service
A bottle of champagne upon arrival
         Special gifts
A free night when couples return for their anniversary
Discounts and special offers on activities and attractions.

  • 5 Romantic Winter Proposal Ideas

    Author: Kimberly Richmond

Proposal season is almost upon us. Don’t get me wrong, there is no wrong time to propose, but one of the first things you learn when you’re planning a wedding is that everything has a “season.”

According to the Wedding Wire Newlywed Report, nearly 40 percent of marriage proposals take place November through February. December — particularly Christmas time — is without a doubt the most popular month for “popping the question.” Whether it’s the twinkling lights, the snow flurries, the sparkly celebrations or all of the holiday festivities, the stage practically sets itself for a movie-worthy proposal.

If you’re planning on adding a little “bling” to your season with a holiday engagement, here is a roundup of winter proposal ideas that are sure to provide a beautiful start to your happily ever after.

I’m a total sucker for surprises, and when it comes to an occasion like this, don’t you want the element of surprise?

The holidays usually mean traveling home to see family, and often, they can be spread far apart from one another. Whether you’re loading up the car and driving to Upstate New York to spend the holidays with your soon-to-be fiancé’s parents or hopping on a cross country flight to spend Thanksgiving with yours, chances are you’re spending them together. The “surprise visit” proposal shakes things up and is the perfect scenario for couples who want to include their families in their special moment.

You could invent a last minute, bogus “work emergency,” which wouldn’t allow you to spend the holiday with your partner. While this might cause some turmoil and tension in the short term, I promise it will be worth it in the end. Once your beloved has made it safely to their family where they will be spending the holidays (“leaving” you miles behind), the look on their face when they answer the knock on the door only to find you there — on bended knee will be priceless. The best part about a holiday proposal is getting to celebrate with family afterwards.

    2. LET IT SNOW
There is something whimsical, romantic, and downright magical about snow because it seems to bring out the inner child in all of us. It also provides scenarios for a spectacular, unforgettable, and fun proposal.

How about getting creative and building a snowman with “arms” sturdy enough to attach a ring box to? Or how about engaging (no pun intended) in a good, old-fashioned snowball fight? Surprise your partner with a ring when they turn around to toss an epic snowball. What’s that I said about bringing out your inner child?

There’s no denying that there is something extra captivating about the first snowfall of the season and it’s such a sensational view to wake up to. Write your proposal in the fresh fallen snow in big, bold letters so that it’s the first thing your partner sees when they wake up and look outside. Naturally, this should be followed by breakfast in bed!

It doesn’t get much more romantic than snuggling up by a roaring fire, tucked into a cozy mountain lodge, with a good bottle of wine, and a blustery snowstorm roaring outside. A winter getaway can set the scene for an uber romantic proposal idea that can turn into a weekend-long celebration. If you’re the adventurous type, imagine the adrenaline rush of proposing at the top of a snowy mountain peak.

Or, how about popping the questions on a ski lift or while dog sledding? Even if mountain sports aren’t your “thing,” mountain ranges are almost always synonymous with postcard-like towns that come to life during the holidays. A candlelit dinner in an old tavern along historic Main Street while taking in the magnificent snow-capped landscape isn’t a terrible setting either. Top that off with a moonlit sleigh ride and you’ve got yourself a pretty unforgettable winter proposal.

New Year’s Eve is quite possibly the most perfect scenario for an unforgettable proposal. Whether you’re throwing a NYE party, celebrating on the town with friends, or have a romantic dinner for two planned — chances are, you will be in a festive mood, dressed to the nines and ready to celebrate. If you decide to propose at a New Year’s Eve party, enlist the help of your guests.

I can think of few things more electrifying than a room full of people counting down to midnight and then stopping at “three” so that you can get down on bended knee and propose at the stroke of midnight. Not only will you have an amazing anniversary to celebrate every year, but you’ll have fireworks to go along with it! A New Year’s Eve proposal doesn’t have to involve a big group.

If you’re anything like me, I enjoy ringing in the New Year from the coziness of my home, away from the crowds. Plan a romantic evening in and suggest to your partner that you share your New Year’s Resolutions with one another. Make the final resolution on your list the resolution to spend the rest of your life with your partner. Whether you chose to do your resolution “reveal” before or after the ball drops is up to you — the champagne will be on hand either way!

Pre-COVID, Christmas Day was the most popular day of the year to get engaged. While it’s dropped to number three (following Valentine’s Day and New Year’s Day), this jubilant holiday remains a favorite day to pop the question. The joy of the season, the parties, the mistletoe, the eggnog, and overall holiday cheer all serve as the perfect inspiration to ask that very important question.

One of the beautiful things about the season are all the fun elements leading up to Christmas Day, giving you so many opportunities to get creative. While classic, putting the ring under the tree isn’t the only way to go. I’m a total sucker for a good stocking-stuffer, and while I would hardly call an engagement ring a stocking-stuffer, I love this idea!

I also love a good advent calendar — especially a personalized one that ends with a proposal. Whether you’re hiding the ring box in the tree, hanging the ring from Mistletoe, or engraving your question on an ornament — a Christmas engagement is nothing short of magical.
